Relisted in the Poconos: Rebuilt Contemporary in Lake Naomi
This Lake Naomi contemporary got a style upgrade that has turned it into a house like nothing you’ve seen in the Poconos to date. It’s back on the market after a brief delisting.
Editor’s note, Aug. 12th: We featured this house the day it went on the market, May 14th. Eight days later, the listing had been removed, which means many of our readers might have received a broken link if they tried to reach the agent marketing this house. The house was relisted on June 26th, and I consider this house such an exceptional find that we are repeating this post today as our featured Poconos house.
The house you see above was built in 1972 in the Poconos resort community of Lake Naomi. But I can guarantee you that it looked nothing like this in 1972.
What you see here is for all intents and purposes a brand-new house, fresh off a top-to-botton rebuild.
And when I say “fresh,” I mean fresh, for the rebuild gave it style and character unmatched in any contemporary Poconos house I’ve yet seen.
The makeover has given it dramatic new spaces that are either open to the elements or feel as though they are.
You enter this Lake Naomi rebuilt contemporary house for sale through one of those new spaces — a screened-in sunroom. The sliding barn door and its guide wheels give you a clue about what you will see inside.
Once inside, past the powder room just inside the front door, the first thing you see is a modern-yet-rustic open living room. Its central feature: a full-height stone fireplace that recalls those of the earliest Poconos houses.
According to the floor plans, the living room continues on into the space next to the kitchen. To the right of this space, a sliding door opens onto the sunroom, while the dining room lies beyond the sliding French doors.
But given that the dining room is a two-story-high glass atrium, you may wish to use it as a den or family room and put the dining table in the kitchen-adjacent part of the living room.
Besides, it will make serving dinner simpler, as it will be just steps away from the very nicely outfitted full-tile kitchen. It includes quartz countertops, a stainless-steel farmhouse sink and a pot filler over the range. And it has breakfast bar seating at its peninsula, not to mention one of several very cool farmhouse-inspired light fixtures hanging over that peninsula.
As all three of this house”s bedrooms have en-suite baths, you could arrange to sleep in the one on the first floor and enjoy single-floor living. But why would you want to do that when the primary bedroom upstairs is such a knockout?
With a vaulted wood-plank ceiling, a stone fireplace with a wood stove, and a wet bar with a beverage fridge, the primary bedroom is a vacation retreat unto itself.
It also has a large walk-in closet behind sliding barn doors with more of those distinctive guide wheels, and a Big Ass ceiling fan keeps the air moving within it and helps improve the efficiency of the climate control system.
It also has two balconies. One overlooks the atrium dining room.
The other is an outdoor deck over the sunroom.
Like every other house in Lake Naomi, this one is surrounded by woods that enhance its outdoorsy feel. And like every other house in Lake Naomi, it offers you the option of becoming a member of the family-friendly Lake Naomi Club, which offers residents seven beaches, two Olympic-sized swimming pools, 23 tennis courts (two of them indoors), summer camps for kids and adults, a golf course and sailing on the lake, not to mention a clubhouse with restaurant and meeting facilities.
All this makes this Lake Naomi rebuilt contemporary house for sale a truly rare find.
