Just Listed in the Poconos: Renovated Contemporary in Marshalls Creek
This modern symphony in stone, wood and lots of glass offers you a picture window — four of them, to be specific — on its lovely forested surroundings.
As I’ve said before here, I usually don’t feature houses with photos of empty rooms because people find it hard to decorate them with their imaginations.
But when Mother Nature does the decorating, how can I not feature such a house?
So it is with this newly renovated Marshalls Creek contemporary house for sale. The renovation turned what was already a most original contemporary house into one that’s fit for 21st-century living.
Its main floor comes about as close as one can get to an actual glass house thanks to the huge picture windows that flank its front and back entrances. The two in the living room combine with its stone fireplace to give the impression that one is actually living outdoors. Off the living room is a family room with stone accent walls and large sliding doors that open onto a Juliet balcony.
On the other side of the foyer, back hall, stairs and powder room, the dining room and kitchen are separated by a wall.
There’s a good reason for this: One needs a place to put the appliances and cabinets, and combining the two rooms would mean that the kitchen wouldn’t have a splendid view of the rear deck and yard.
You can entertain your guests in the dining room, but you no doubt will want to dine casually at the kitchen island and take in the view.
When the weather’s nice, you can head out onto its wraparound rear deck, which has built-in bench seating. You can access the deck from the back door next to the kitchen or through the sitting room that connects the kitchen and dining room, which also has a large sliding glass door.
Upstairs, a trio of large windows looks out onto the wooded surroundings from the stair hall.
Identical windows offer the same view in the other direction from the primary bathroom.
The windows in the primary bedroom are not as large, but they still let lots of light pour in.
Two walk-in closets frame the passage from the bedroom to the bathroom. Where the primary bedroom has dark hardwood floors and stone tile in its bathroom shower, the other two bedrooms on this floor have bamboo floors and marble tile in their en-suite bathrooms.
On the lower level you will find a spacious rec room, the mechanical room, a bonus room that could function as a bedroom if needed and a two-car garage.
From here, it’s a short drive to Marshalls Creek, where you can pick up Route 209 to take you to Shawnee-on-the-Delaware and the Delaware Water Gap recreation area. Business Route 209 takes you from Marshalls Creek into the heart of East Stroudsburg.
Beautifully updated and beautifully sited on a mountainside lot, this renovated Marshalls Creekcontemporary house for sale lets you become one with nature in style.
