This traditional twin got an upgrade that retained all of this home's original character while adding some very nice features usually not found at this price point.
In the world of commercial projects, two words that often produce dread in project designers are “value engineering.”
This is when the green-eyeshade crowd take out their pencils and remove all the stuff that might make a project more than bare-bones.
If this well-kept and well-mannered twin in East Falls is any guide, “value remodeling” had a completely different meaning for this home’s owner.

And we’re thinking even more of the second-floor master suite. The bedroom now has storage galore in the form of traditional cabinetry in the main sleeping space and more contemporary closets and drawers in the office alcove.
Then there’s the bathroom, which got a whirlpool tub and separate stall shower.
The rear porch has been transformed into a laundry room with workspace and plenty of windows overlooking the large backyard.
And you’ll find all this in a very convenient spot: both East Falls’ commercial crossroads and its Regional Rail station are a short walk away, as is one of the city’s best Irish pubs, Billy Murphy’s Saloon.
Now look at the sale price once again. And thank this home’s owner for knowing the difference between “cheap” and “great value.”
