A House With a Lot of Stuff In It in South Philly
Behind this typical modest South Philly rowhouse facade is something that is truly unique. That is to say, there’s nothing else like it, at least not in Philadelphia.
This is one of those rare homes where the broker’s description utterly fails to do the place justice:
“Large home half a block from Passyunk Square. Newer front, modern kitchen with granite counter top, laundry room and powder room on 1st floor. full finished basement with powder room, 3 large bedrooms with ceramic tile bath and large walk in closet. Pella windows throughout, newer central air unit, new rubber roof. Home was a 4 bedroom converted to a 3 bedroom which increased the size of the bathroom and walk in closed [sic].”
What it doesn’t tell you is that this home is stuffed full of personality—the personality of a taxidermist, it appears.
Or if not a taxidermist, then someone who is in love with stuffed animal heads.
The living room is chock full of them: deer, elk, moose, a duck in flight and an entire stuffed ram. (The chairs are also overstuffed, in sympathy with the animals, perhaps.)
Upstairs, there’s a deer head hanging over the stairway from the first floor.
In one of the three bedrooms, four more deer heads are lying around, presumably awaiting mounting on some wall.
And in the basement home office space, there’s a pair of antlers mounted on one wall.
The home certainly looks lived in as well. Which, we suspect, isn’t helping it sell. Could someone send a home stager over?
