Builder John Diament seems to have a knack for making memorable houses. To give you an idea, last time we featured one of his creations it was referred to as the ‘technicolor dream’ and ‘kaleidoscopic gem.’ Now, its this recently listed Diament home that has us gaping.

First off is its mouthwatering location on ten secluded acres and at the crossroads of three streams. The Glenmoore property includes a Japanese-style teahouse, and has about 60,000 perennials, a myriad of specimen trees, and borrows many of its colors from the outdoors. It’s also interesting to note that the home’s layout is based on the principle of bilateral symmetry to represent balance: the main area is the axis, while one wing on each side acts as secondary elements.

Inside, the main area offers an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, and a remote-controlled monitor window. The gourmet kitchen with SubZero fridge and granite island is here, as is a family room with fieldstone Rumford fireplace, and dining area. Views of the grounds can be had from most of the windows, while outside a wraparound Ipe deck (Ipe is said to be “one of the hardest woods known to man.”) comes with a covered 2-story stone fireplace.

One of the neatest features though has got to be the bluestone-floored foyer with its self-contained humidification system,  large boulder, and indoor fish pond connecting to the master suite wing. This latter section of the house includes a master bathroom, separate laundry area, sleeping quarter, and private Ipe deck.

The second wing, made up of two bedroom suites with a shared living room, can be found on the opposite side of the main area. This portion of the home also has a laundry room, loft, and private deck.

Other details of note:

  • Lower-level billiard room/recreation area
  • Lower-level wet bar, 7-seat theater, wine cellar
  • Lower-level bedroom suite with living area
  • Cartell driveway alarm in every room (now you know the minute someone arrives!)
