How Much Would Minimum Wage Earners Have to Make to Afford Philly’s Median Rent?
According to this interactive Zillow map that uses data from October, single-income minimum wage earners would be able to afford the median rent in the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly, Camden, Wilmington) if the minimum wage were $33.08. Double-income households would need the minimum wage to be $15.54.
(That’s assuming they work a 40-hour work week and are employed for 50 weeks of the year.)
