Wynn Philadelphia Cozies Up to Minority Contractors

Wynn Philadelphia, one of the six bidders vying for the city’s second casino license, will hold an outreach event this week to bring minority- and women-owned construction suppliers, subcontractors and vendors together for networking. This is apparently the first of many such events that will encourage diversity on the project–if this is the project that gets chosen, that is.

For those who are curious about Wynn’s plan for the casino, the first hour of the event at the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing will consist of a presentation about the Wynn Philadelphia resort and then turn to a briefing on the process of how the Gaming Control Board moves forward to decide on that all important license.

Let’s hope none of the Wynn surrogates say anything unkind about the building trades or even suggest a reticence there. Then the stupid rat will get lugged out again, and spoil the view of the waterfront.
