Searching for a stunning, glam, modern summer wedding in the city? Look no further than Ivy Kaplin and Matthew Solomon‘s pretty Logan Hotel wedding. This particular fete was especially gorgeous given that it was thrown by one of our very own in the wedding community: Ivy is the owner of Lovely Bride Philly, and her husband is an attorney in Philly. See it all in these stunning shots from Love Me Do Photography

This pair met by a set-up through (very wise) mutual connections: the bride was from Bryn Mawr, and the groom was from Wynnewood. Their friends Jess and Kate had a sneaky feeling that the two would really hit it off, so they gave them eachother’s information to go out on a date. Their first date was at a classic Philly first date spot: Tria. “We had a great time chatting, drinking wine, and getting to know each other,” says Ivy. They ended up going out again for tacos the very next night. After that, it was history.

After they dated for ten months, Matt knew she was the one. But, he had to figure out how to plan the perfect proposal. He  knew that he couldn’t do just anything for a girl who was a bridal industry expert. To trick Ivy, Matt enlisted some help from the rest of Philly’s wedding crowd. He looped in Ivy’s photographer friends Carina and Amanda of Love Me Do Photography and hair and makeup expert Aleks of Aleksandra Ambrozy to put a fake bridal shoot at City Hall. In the middle of their “photo shoot,” Matt appeared—and got down on one knee. The cameras all turned to Ivy.

“He said bunch of nice things that all feel like a blur now,” Ivy remembers, “and asked me to marry him. It was perfect! Our parents and Matt’s sister came from behind a pillar where they were hiding and watching!”

Afterwards, the group went back to her store, Lovely Bride, for some champagne and cheese. The happy couple celebrated with a romantic dinner at Townsend later that evening.

After a ten month engagement, the pair wed at The Logan Hotel in a fun, elegant celebration with 219 of their friends and family. The couple had a grand cocktail hour featuring an ice bar with frozen orchids for their sushi station, and apps like avocado and apple tartlets, beet-cured salmon on potato pancakes, and duck confit crepes.

The couple shared their choreographed first dance to “Over and Over Again” by Nathan Sykes and Ariana Grande, which then transitioned into “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars for a fun twist. They danced the night away with their guests, who enjoyed a signature cocktail of citrus Vodka, St. Germaine, and cucumber and basil. Dessert was a gorgeous vanilla and chocolate cake with hot chocolate whipped cream filling. The pair honeymooned in French Polynesia (they visited Moorea, Tahaa and Bora Bora), and currently live in Bella Vista.
