They Met on Tumblr, Went on a First Date in Canada, Then Had Their Wedding at North Bowl
This super-fun Philly wedding included bowling, pool, and ice cream sammies.

Lynne and Tiana first connected on Tumblr a number of years ago over shared interest in a recipe. They followed each other’s blogs, which eventually led to messaging, Skyping, texting before finally meeting in person in July of 2012. That first IRL date was a longer journey than most people would be willing to make — Lynne, a Philly-native, flew to Tiana’s home in Alberta, Canada.
Tiana was initially struck by Lynne’s outgoing and sarcastic nature, as well as her extreme passion for sports. Lynne fell in love with Tiana’s big, beautiful smile — but her thoughtful and kind disposition didn’t hurt, either. While in Canada, Tiana took Lynne to Banff National Park, where they visited the Athabasca Glacier, went horseback riding, river rafting, and soaked in the natural hot springs. How’s that for a first date?
After four years of dating, Lynne took Tiana back to Banff to propose at Vermillion Lakes at sunset; About a year-and-a-half later, the pair made it official with a small elopement in Canada. Because Lynne’s family was far away in Pennsylvania, the couple hardly got to celebrate with their friends and loved ones. Enter Lynne and Tiana’s wedding, phase two: a Philadelphia celebration.
Their goal was to host a fun celebration where guests could relax and do what they were there to do — celebrate. The couple kicked off their Loews hotel ceremony with a double dad first look before exchanging “secret” vows that they whispered into each other’s ears. They nodded to their their shared Ukrainian heritage by using a custom Rushnyk in their handfasting ceremony.
After making their way to North Bowl for a reception filled with all sorts of fun — including a cartoonist, bowling, arcade games and pool — Lynne and Tiana shared their first dance to Adele’s “Sweetest Devotion” before playfully shoving Weckerly’s ice cream sandwiches in one another’s faces. The pair honeymooned in Tulum before returning to their home in Alberta, where Tiana is a medical office assistant and Lynne is a pet care supervisor.
