For many brides-to-be, the months and weeks leading up to the Big Day are laden with beauty treatments galore—and it goes well beyond the expected wedding-day hair and makeup: There’s waxing, brow shapings, lash extensions (and refills), spray tans, facials designed to tighten, brighten and smooth your skin to baby-like perfection. It’s a lot, and let’s not forget the diets, cleanses and strict workout regimens to get your body in tip-top shape, too.

To err on the side of caution, these are the 10 worst beauty rituals to try right before your wedding. Just say no to Botox, popping pimples and (obviously) going in for a new hairstyle. And that juice cleanse you’re thinking about? Watch out: it can leave you feeling jittery and weak.
