We live in a city that’s photogenic year-round (the architecture, tree-lined streets and historic landmarks are perfect photo subjects, no matter the season) but once autumn hits, Philly really shines: Vibrant fall foliage covers every inch of this city, and we’re sure you’ve whipped out your phone on more than one occasion to snap a photo as you’re walking around outside.

There’s no better time than right now to capture the city in all its colorful glory, so whether you’re posing for engagement photos to use in your save-the-dates or just to have for framing around your home (hello, Christmas cards!), get outdoors and take advantage of Philly’s stunning scenery. These five local spots make for fantastic backdrops, especially during the fall season.

Linvilla Orchards[1]
Where: 137 W Knowlton Road, Media
What: As far as seasonal props go, this family favorite has it all: blossoming apple trees, bails of hay, pumpkins galore and, of course, freshly baked apple cider donuts. Wind your way around the fields and orchards, get lost in the cornfield maze and smile alongside the scarecrows at Pumpkinland. We suggest you stay until dusk to get a shot of the lighting of the jack o’ lanterns.

Longwood Gardens[2]
Where: 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square
What: Fall is the best time to visit Longwood Gardens—the colors of autumn completely take over, and you’re surrounded by a sea of warm golds, reds and oranges. For a rustic backdrop, stroll along the Meadow Garden’s three miles of walking and hiking trails, or, for a more elegant look, strike a pose on the brick-lined Flower Garden Walk. You won’t want to miss having your photo taken during the Chrysanthemum Festival (October 24 to November 22), where more than 16,000 blooms are arranged into the most stunning and colorful displays.

Morris Arboretum[3]
Where: 100 East Northwestern Avenue, Chestnut Hill
What: You’ll want to spend the whole day exploring every nook and cranny of this historic arboretum—there’s a variety of gardens and sculptures to see, and each one offers a unique setting for your photo shoot. F. Otto Haas Oak Allée, Seven Arches and Step Fountain are a few of the most romantic spots to stop for pictures, while Patrick Dougherty’s stickwork sculpture, A Waltz in the Woods, feels perfectly festive for fall. Not to be missed: the arboretum’s collection of massive trees (they photograph beautifully).

Wyebrook Farm[4]
Where: 150 Wyebrook Road, Honey Brook
What: You can’t beat the amazing views at this 360-acre sustainable farm in Chester County. There are old stone barns, quaint gardens and a darling courtyard with picnic benches overlooking the landscaped grounds. The farm’s restaurant/cafe/butcher shop is equally as stunning, should you want to snap a few photos indoors.

Valley Forge National Park[5]
Where: 1400 North Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia
What: Valley Forge[6] has long been a popular place for hiking, walking and picnicking, and anyone who visits the park will tell you in makes for a lovely photo shoot location, too. Frolic through the fields of tall grass, peek inside the reconstructed log cabins and pose underneath the National Memorial Arch—it’s just begging to be photographed.
