Here’s a peek at Sweet Whistle’s new shore-themed welcome box.

If your guest list includes any out-of-towners who are making the trip for your Big Day, chances are that preparing some sort of welcome bag is on your list of pre-wedding to-do’s. We’ve shared with you before our favorite ideas for putting together the perfect Philly-themed goody basket (we love these totes and these locally-made treats) and even suggested a morning-after brunch box that we guarantee your guests will appreciate after a long night of celebrating.

But while building these adorable, thoughtful welcome bags can be fun, they can also take up a ton of time—time that you likely don’t have while trying to coordinate every other aspect of your wedding. That’s where Mairin Barnes and her Bryn Mawr-based company Sweet Whistle come in: Barnes creates personalized gift boxes filled with unique items and snacks—she sources from artisans all over the United States who have gained recognition for their respective enterprises—that your friends and family will absolutely love.

And not only can Sweet Whistle’s beautiful boxes be used as a welcome treat for your out-of-town guests, but you can also give them as favors, bridal party gifts or as a thank you to your parents after the Big Day.

On the Sweet Whistle website, you’ll find an assortment of pre-designed boxes that revolve around a certain theme (like the Under the Boardwalk box pictured above). Each box comes with a personalized insert card and is beautifully packaged according to the occasion—”Small Box, Big Thank You,” “Will You Be My Bridesmaid” and “Thanks, Man” are a few of their signature packaging options.

If those ideas don’t fit with your affair, Barnes will work with you to create a custom box of items that make the most sense for you. She tells us they typically get requests for custom gift boxes that reflect a particular region of the country, a particular style profile or a targeted price point. After discussing your ideas, she’ll follow up via e-mail with various options for you to choose from.

Pre-made boxes begin at $18 each, and to get in touch with Barnes about a custom box for your Big Day, fill out the custom box form here.
