Our Top 3 Favorite Celeb Bridal Looks of the Year

When we started going through our brains, notes and blog posts to try and rustle up all the celebs who tied the knot this year, quite a few of us were in agreement: seems like a lot of people got married this year!

This means that there was lots of oohing and ahhing—as well as lots of huh?-ing, to be suremany a Monday morning in 2014, and after reviewing, we think we can boil this down to our three faves. IT WAS TOUGH, PEOPLE. But here we go:

Kim Kardashian

I must admit that I am quite surprised to find myself declaring this, but what can I say? I loved Kim’s bridal look. I didn’t love the cutouts along the sides of her dress—if I were in charge, I would have just kept the lace as it was on her bust and butt all through the torso, but sadly, I am not—and the thing is, they actually fit her style. The lace, the long sleeves, the high neck, the natural, worn-down hair, and the veil—oh, that dramatic, glorious veil. It was good. It was really, really good. Good job, Kim.

Amal Alamuddin Clooney The new Mrs. Clooney’s Oscar de la Renta wedding dress was perfection, to be sure—but we’re mostly choosing her, here, because her entire wedding weekend wardrobe was maybe the most impeccable few days of dressing by a lady that we’ve seen in a while, and most specifically, because of that day-after-the-wedding Giambattista Valli. All hail that Giambattista Valli.

Olivia Palermo

Ms. Palermo gets this spot because a) she did something so different, with her sweater and her ponytail and her ball skirt-over-shorts on her wedding day, and also because b) different or not, the look was just to die for. The look was perfectly her. Also: Carolina Herrera.

This doesn’t mean that we didn’t very much enjoy the wedding-day ensembles of beautiful brides Jessica Simpson, Angelina Jolie, Solange Knowles, Piper Peraboo, Lauren Scruggs, Lauren Conrad, and many of the other lovely famous ladies who walked down the aisles this year—it’s just that for us, these looks take the three-tiered cake.

How about you? What are your top three?
