Host Your Wedding at the Newly-Renovated Sonesta Philadelphia
If a ballroom wedding is what you have in mind for your Big Day, you’ll want to add the newly-renovated Sonesta Philadelphia to your list of potential venues. The Center City hotel recently wrapped up a nearly $30 million renovation and the entire property has been transformed into a modern, stylish place to celebrate your I Do’s.
Included in the hotel’s massive makeover was a redesign of all 439 guest rooms (plus the addition of 22 suites); the Art Gallery, which showcases a rotating exhibition of local Philly artists; and the Art Bar, a posh lounge that offers small plates and creative libations (also ideal for your cocktail hour).
The hotel’s 16,000-square-feet of event space—that includes the Wyeth Ballroom which can accommodate up to 600 guests—also received a facelift, and can be converted to fit parties of all styles and sizes.
Along with those 22 new suites we mentioned earlier, the Sonesta also added a Presidential Suite, which is ideal for bridal party pampering before the Big Day. Gather your ‘maids the morning of and enjoy sipping champagne and getting ready together in the sleek, spacious suite. We’re told that the hotel always includes a unique amenity in the suite as well—like chocolate-covered strawberries or “Mr. & Mrs.” embroidered pillowcases—depending on the type of wedding and personality of the bride.
