The Bronzed Bee: Rittenhouse’s New Tanning & Waxing Boutique

Come to the grand opening party this Wednesday.

The Bronzed Bee is now open at 406 South 20th Street.

The Bronzed Bee is now open at 406 South 20th Street.

Ashley Piotrowski’s got a background in law and forensic science—but it was her hobby as a total skincare junkie that led her to open the brand new Bronzed Bee, a tanning and waxing boutique a few blocks away from Rittenhouse Square.

After a few jobs at spas and airbrush tanning studios, she realized that when it came to beauty, she loved that quick fix, she says—buzzing in and out in 20 minutes—and that philosophy has become the motto at her new boutique.

Just opened this month—they’re celebrating their grand opening tomorrow night (more on that in a minute!)—the boutique’s got a cozy, girl feel, done all in black and gold, and offers an array of waxing, airbrush tanning and lash and eyebrow tinting services. (Get the full list here.)

For brides, Piotrowski recommends they come in for an airbrush-tan trial run a couple of weeks before the wedding, and then pay attention over the following week to see how it fades, and on which day they like it best; then they’ll know how far before their wedding to get their tan. (They offer a package of three tans that she recommends they use for their trial, for their bachelorette party, and then their wedding!)

And even more fun: the Bronzed Bee is located right next door to Pamcakes Cupcakery, and the two owners are working together to come up with a kind of party for brides and their ‘maids, where Piotrowski will close down the shop, and ladies can come in and get their tans done for the wedding while enjoying Pamcakes cupcakes and champagne.

Oh, and as we mentioned: they’re celebrating on Wednesday, February 5th with a grand opening party from 6:30 to 8:30! So stop on by, check out the boutique, have a drink, grab a goodie bag (the first 30 guests!), and make your first appointment to see what it’s all about.
