PHOTOS: How to DIY 3 Gorgeous Wedding-Day ‘Dos

I’ve mentioned before that brides who decide to do their own hair and/or makeup make me very nervous: What if they find they’re too excited/emotional/whatever to concentrate on such a task that day? What if they mess up or want to try to do it over or feel rushed and get flustered, and then there’s no one there with the skills to take over? Whatifwhatifwhatif?

But that’s just me. I totally get why some of them would want to, and have known—both personally and through the magazine—several girls who have successfully done either or both for their wedding days, so I’m not exactly against it, I just feel like there’s a little more room for something to go wrong, is all.

That said, I’m all about arming DIY-beauty brides with loads of advice and ideas and tips for finding and pulling off their desired Big Day look, and that’s why I loved this post from Refinery29. Not only are all three of these DIY bridal hairstyles gorg—though personally, I could probably do without the flowers in the last one—the detailed, step-by-step photos and instructions make them seem actually doable. Like so doable I kinda want to try one of them myself the next time I’m a wedding guest.

Any of you planning on DIYing your hair or makeup? How did you decide that this was the way to go?
