This new Center City salon is a bit of a bridal one-stop shop.

Take Care of Your Wedding-Day Hair, Makeup and Veil With Architeqt Salon & The Wedding Factor

So the thing is, we would be pumped about either of these new businesses just on their own—the fact that they’re in it together just makes it even more cool, and we think Philly brides will agree.

This past fall, well-loved Philly hair stylist Alexey Kats opened Architeqt Salon and Gallery, which is a hair salon, yes—but kind of a little more than that. It also functions as a gallery space, and can be used to host cocktail parties, pop-up shops, various workshops and all kinds of events.

And just this past month, seasoned Philly wedding planner Kathy Bado launched a retail division of her company The Wedding Factor, specializing in bridal veils and headpieces. As part of his mission for Architeqt to be a mixed-use space, Kats had an area of the salon available for rent, and Kathy thought it would be just about the perfect place to feature the items she was going to carry. And so a pretty fab partnership was born.

The salon, which specializes in dry cuts, Balayage hair coloring and luxe Keratin treatments, also offers a range of bridal services, from on-location hair and makeup (one of the salon’s stylists and bridal specialists is Jen Luszczak, about whom we wrote this when awarding her Best of Philly in 2010) to the ability to rent out the entire space for up to 12 people, where you and your girls can get beautified for the Big Day.

The Wedding Factor’s selection of veils and headpieces includes brands such as Leah C. Couture Millinery, Malis-Henderson, Enchanted Atelier and Ti Adoro Jewelry—and for each brand she carries (which she chooses after visits to New York Bridal Market), Kathy stocks the entire line, so you’ll find pieces that range from $100 to $700. Any bride—not just ladies using her planning services—can pop into the salon and shop the selection, and what’s even better is that if you’re shopping with her and using Architeqt’s services for your Big Day, you, Kathy and your hair stylist can all collaborate at your hair consultation and trial to find the headpiece and style that works best for you.

Call the salon for more details on bridal services and pricing, and be sure to stay tuned for Wedding Factor trunk shows: The first one coming up is happening from February 16-18, and will feature so-gorg pieces from Sara Gabriel Veiling & Headpieces.
