Bride-to-be Blogger Jennifer: Taking Time to Say Thanks

Jennifer and her bridal party

I feel like each of these blogs starts much the same, but with 38 days left until the Big Day, it’s really hard not to focus on the countdown.

The girls in my bridal party, however, gave me a reason to pause this weekend and spend time in the company of great friends and family members. My surprise — and yes, I was legitimately surprised — bridal shower was Saturday.

Full of laughs, love and lingerie — even furry heels, courtesy of my mother! — the day was fantastic, and a nice break from the craziness of both work and wedding planning. It gave me a few hours to breathe, once again regain my focus on what the day is really about, and truly appreciate the hardworking group of women whom I’ve chosen to stand by my side — even if there may be a betting pool about at which point I will start crying.

Unfolding next is another exciting tradition: the bachelorette party! I am really looking forward to unwinding and having a good time.

How are you spending your down time with your girls before the Big Day? Any great suggestions for bachelorette-friendly hot spots to hit in Philly?
