Bride-to-be Blogger Jennifer: Getting the Gifts

Groomsmen and bridesmaids: Avert your eyes! You too, Anthony!

I am starting the search for gifts, and need suggestions for something different — something a little unique — but personal for each person in our wedding party. I have a few things lined up for the girls already — which I won’t name, because I don’t trust that they’ve stopped reading — but can’t seem to find that “it” gift.

Are there traditions that people usually follow for these? I just don’t have any good ideas. I am tapped out.

And then … there’s the groom’s gift. That’s throwing me for a loop, too. It’s like shopping for father’s day when all of the suggested gifts are golf balls and ties. My dad doesn’t play golf or wear ties — so what do you do, then? I am experiencing the same trauma. Anthony doesn’t wear jewelry (though come April 9, he will add a new piece to the repertoire), and so many things just don’t fit the bill.

What did you give your girls and guys? Groom? Parents? Any unique places you recommend looking?
