Bride-to-be Blogger Jennifer: Four Months To Go and the Anxiety Swells
Anthony and I are just entering four-months-to-go territory. It’s so cliché, but I cannot believe how quickly time has passed. Soon, the calendars will flip to 2011 and the real panic will set in.
For now, I am beginning to experience the ebbs and flows of wedding worry — especially this last week with the latest phone call I got about the wedding: My gown is in … and two months ahead of schedule! As excited as I am, like many brides — or at least I assume I am not alone here — I am not physically where I want to be for that first fitting.
I started out strong mid-2010 once the celebratory champagne was gone and I stopped creating things to celebrate (i.e. we picked the venue, let’s go to dinner!). But things slowed as the summer drew to a close and the darkness started to creep up earlier and earlier. The gym at 5:15 a.m. sounds about as torturous as having my first fitting between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so that’s slowly fallen off the daily list of activities.
Nevertheless, I cried when I heard that voicemail, and not because I was worried about the size of my hips or the arm workouts I’ve skipped: It’s really all coming together, and no matter how close to my goal I am on April 9, it will still be the greatest day of my life.
With that in mind, what are you doing to be your best on the Big Day? Have you created some sort of regimen — and stuck to it?
