Bride-to-be Blogger Jennifer: Our Engagement Photo Session

Anthony and I met with our photographer on 10/10/10 to meet and get our engagement photos taken — a date we won’t forget. Since we started dating in October, we decided to wait a little longer than usual after getting engaged, to incorporate that fall feeling into our photographs. We met with one of our photographers at a busy park — I guess following the heat of summer and then all the recent rain, everyone was eager to get out of the house — and she took us around to some different locations to get the best shots.

We were nervous at first, which I am sure will be evident in those first few clicks. But … in no time we loosened up and go used to the watching eyes around us. That will be my closest taste of celebrity — and I am okay with that.

Our photographer, Mary Ellen from Meyer Photography, did a great job making us feel at ease and suggesting poses and ideas. At the end of the “traditional” pictures, we even changed into our football jerseys to get some even more lighthearted pictures.

I can’t wait to see how they all came out. We were laughing and joking around a lot and we were very much ourselves. Good practice for the Big Day.

Did you take engagement photos? How did you get comfortable in front of the camera? Did you break away from the traditional photos? What did you do for fun?
