The So, So Cold 2018 Mummers Parade

In a twist on the old hopeful adage, we’ve been hearing the phrase “New Year, Same Me” uttered a lot lately to describe the spirit of 2018 – and Philly’s Mummers sure typify that defiant tone.

Despite some postponement discussions due to the weather — the high on Monday ended up around 20 — the parade marched on as scheduled, with skits mocking everything from LEGOs to Seth Williams to outgoing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Here, a selection of images that best captured the sub-freezing weirdness and wonder.
