Former Phillies Star Curt Schilling Painfully Defends Donald Trump

He pitched the foulest of foul balls when he tried to explain away Trump's comments about 10- and 14-year-old girls.

How nice would it be to hit the rewind button on the world? Oh, sure, we’d have to give up our iPads and Netflix, but imagine what it would be like to go back to a time when Donald Trump was just an arrogant, misogynistic entrepreneur with a lot of loot and Curt Schilling was just an arrogant but very talented pitcher for the Phillies.

Alas, time travel is only possible in theory, so we’re stuck with Trump as an arrogant and misogynistic presidential candidate with a history of saying horrible things, some of which he now stands accused of doing, and Schilling as a bloated talking head who defends some of those horrible things that Trump has said.

Schilling turned up on FOX Business Network on Thursday, where host Trish Regan tried to ask him about Trump’s recently revealed remarks regarding women’s genitalia, comments taken by many as self-incrimination for sexual assault.

But Schilling wanted to address another matter: Trump’s previous comments about young girls.

In 1992, Trump told two 14-year-old girls, “Wow! Just think — in a couple of years, I’ll be dating you.” And around the same time, Trump said of a 10-year-old girl, “I am going to be dating her in 10 years. Can you believe it?”

Trump’s comments were a subject of discussion on the FOX Business News show before Schilling was brought in, and so he wanted to back up and talk about the young girl comments before getting into the genitalia comments.

Well, it’s fair to say that Schilling probably should have just let Regan ask the questions that she wanted to ask. Actually, he probably should have just crawled back under whatever rock he’s been calling home.
