I’ve written many times before about the greatness of the Phillie Phanatic, chronicling his battle with Tommy Laswordfish and sharing animated GIFs and video of his exploits.
But today I celebrate an actual Phanatic milestone. Although he already celebrated it earlier this month, today is the Phillie Phanatic’s actual birthday. On April 25th, 1978, the Phillie Phanatic debuted at Veterans Stadium. He popped out of a giant baseball and has been delighting Phillies fans ever since.
