The Best Thing That Happened This Week: Howie Roseman Cleaned House

Here we go again ...

Was it exactly a year ago that Philly Mag’s “Best Thing That Happened This Week” was “Chip Kelly blew up the Eagles”? Why, yes, yes it was! “We bade farewell to Trent and Cary and Shady and hello to Kiko,” we wrote then. And look where we are now. This week, Howie Roseman, firmly back in the saddle, took a flamethrower to Chip Kelly’s house of cards, trading injury-prone Kiko Alonso, pricey Byron Maxwell and dismal DeMarco Murray and bringing on (so far) Leodis McKelvin, Rodney McLeod, Nigel Bradham, a pair of Brookses (Ron and Brandon) and QB Chase Daniel. Bam! And all of a sudden, all is forgiven! Which, well, we won’t argue with, because what choice do we have? Hope is the thing with feathers, as the lady from Amherst said. Fly, Eagles, fly!
