Former Camp Counselor Charged With Child Pornography

Twenty-five-year-old Andrew Nutinsky of Lafayette Hill is free on bail after being charged with 10 felony counts of child pornography. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced the charges on Friday afternoon.

The investigation into Nutinsky began in October, when Montgomery County officials were contacted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a nude photo of a girl, who was about 4 years old, that was posted on the Internet. According to prosecutors, that photo originated at Nutinsky’s home. Police searched the home and allegedly found dozens of photos and one video containing child pornography.

It wasn’t the first time that the Nutinsky home had been investigated for child pornography. In 2013, investigators said they traced child pornography to his address, but they were unable to prove that Nutinsky was the one in the house responsible for it.

According to Nutinsky’s LinkedIn page, he was a youth development specialist at a juvenile residential treatment and detention facility from September 2013 through November 2014, and his responsibilities included providing “safety and security to 12 juveniles.” Prior to that, he “maintained and handled [a] caseload of 15 juvenile delinquents” for the Youth Services Agency of Pennsylvania; before that, he was a counselor at Camp Harlam, a Jewish summer camp in Kunkletown, Pennsylvania. His most recent job listed is as a technical support employee for Vanguard.

His father is Howard Nutinsky, who owned the New Corned Beef Academy at 16th and Walnut streets. According to the father’s LinkedIn page, he was the business manager at Camp Harlam when his son worked there. The home is owned by the father.

In addition to 10 charges of child pornography, Nutinsky also faces one count of criminal use of a communication facility. Magisterial District Judge Deborah A. Lukens set his bail at just $50,000, which he posted. He is scheduled for arraignment in Common Pleas Court on February 17th.
