Police: Christmas Wreath Thief Strikes In Fairmount

Oh, the depravity!

While the good people of Fairmount were getting all snug in their beds on Sunday night, police say that a sinister Scrooge was lurking about, waiting to steal someone’s Christmas wreath.

It happened around 10:42 p.m. on the 2400 block of Aspen Street. Watch as he walks right up to the front door and takes the Christmas wreath off of it:

Police describe the suspect as follows: “Black male, 40-50 years-of-age, goatee, wearing a light colored jacket, light colored pants, and a light colored knit cap with dark colored stripes.”

Brazen acts of holiday ornament theft are nothing new for these hard streets we call home. In 2013, a man and woman stole Christmas ornaments off of the stoop of a South Philadelphia home. And in 2014, another home was targeted for its spooky Halloween decor.

Anyone with information on the wreath theft is asked to call Detective Dunne in Central Detectives at 215-686-3093.
