REVIEW: Dining With the Divas Lives Up To Its Name

On Sunday, October 11, Philadelphia celebrated Outfest, our 25th anniversary celebration of National Coming Out day. One of the day’s kick-off events was Dining With The Divas, a drag show and lunch at Hard Rock Café Philadelphia at 1113-31 Market Street.

The lunch was hosted by Iris Spectre and featured numbers by Zsa Zsa St. James, Maria TopCatt and Omyra Lynn. The performers stayed true to the name of the event as it was indeed a diva showcase. Zsa Zsa St. James performed to “Walking On Broken Glass” (Annie Lennox), decked out in stiletto heels and three separate costume changes throughout the event. Omyra Lynn gave us everything as she performed to “Single Ladies” (Beyonce) and Maria TopCatt was flawless as she performed to “Nutbush City Limits” (Tina Turner), showing us her flexibility as she dropped down into a full split on stage.

One of the highlights of the event was the ensemble performance to Spice Girls’ “Spice Up Your Life”, which was casually choreographed, yet included spontaneous solo numbers by each performer.

Mimosas are available and the menu is the standard Hard Rock Café fare.
