WATCH: Suspects Sought in North Philly Carjacking, Robbery

Two suspects took more than $4,000 from a man before taking his car and driving away.

Two suspects are wanted by the East Detective Division for a robbery and carjacking that occurred in the Hartranft section of North Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police report that on August 13th, two black male suspects stopped a man around 11:20 am as he arrived at his business in the 2800 block of North 9th Street. Police say the 29-year-old man was approached in his 2005 Acura TL by the suspects, one of whom was carrying a handgun.

The suspects opened both the driver- and passenger-side doors, and the handgun-wielding suspect demanded money from the driver, who gave $3,000 he had on his possession from his grocery store, police say. The suspects then together removed the driver from his car and allegedly took an extra $1,150 from the car before driving west on Somerset Street towards Broad Street, police add.

Police described the suspects:

Suspect #1: Black male, 5’6″, 20 years-of-age, dark complected, thin build, beard, and wearing sunglasses.
Suspect #2: Black male, 5’6″, 20 years-of-age, thin, dark complected, beard, wearing a tan hat, black shirt, tan shorts, and armed with a handgun.
