We know lots of you are completely frazzled after a long snow day at home with your kids on Thursday, so we hope you have plenty of alcohol in the house when we give you this news: Your kids aren’t going to school on Friday.

From the School District:

ALL SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED FRIDAY, MARCH 6

PHILADELPHIA – Due to the inclement weather, all School District of Philadelphia schools are closed for Friday, March 6. Also closed are all prekindergarten and after school programs. Administrative offices will be open two hours late.

The general public and media are urged to monitor the District Web site at www.philasd.org for any updates. Updated information will also be posted on the District’s Information Hotline at 215-400-INFO (4636).

Oh, and your kid is in Catholic school? Yeah, they’re probably off, too:

ARCHDIOCESAN SCHOOLS IN THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA
WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW, FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2015

Archdiocesan high schools and Catholic elementary schools in the City of Philadelphia will be closed today, Friday, March 6, 2015 due to conditions resulting from today’s storm.

Archdiocesan high schools and Catholic elementary schools in the suburban counties normally follow the decision of their corresponding local public school district and submit closure status independently.

Out in the ’burbs, it’s a mixed bag of closings and delayed openings. Check CBS Philly’s comprehensive list.

You may be wondering why all of this is happening. It could be because a record cold is setting in, which would make the roads treacherous Friday morning. Or maybe you just have bad karma.
