It’s that time of year again: when G Philly and the Philadelphia Flower Show team up to add that extra bit of sparkle to the annual parade of all things floral at the Convention Center.

The fifth annual LGBT Party at the Philadelphia Flower Show is taking place outside the Grand Hall in the PA Convention Center on Sunday, March 1st from 4 to 6 pm. As always, there will be drinks, nibbles and a few local and national celebrity appearances. This year we’re welcoming star Chef Jaime Laurita, who’s going to share his new sparkling wine, Bello Boy Moscato, and legendary blaxploitation star Pam Grier will return as spokesperson for Dining Out for Life. (In fact, I’m going to interview Ms. Grier on stage during the event, so send me some questions if you have something you want to ask her.)

Our very own Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus will also be in the house performing movie-themed tunes, and, because no LGBT party would be complete without them, there will be drag queens from Cruise Planners dressed up like Bette Midler and other Hollywood gay icons.

On the food front, we have a whole caravan of local restaurants bringing grub for us all to enjoy, including Indeblue, Zavino, Valanni, and Garces Trading Company.

Tickets are $50 and that includes admission to the Flower Show, which can be purchased here under the header “Flower Show Theme Nights.”

This year’s Philadelphia Flower Show is themed “Celebrate the Movies,” so expect arrangements with an over-the-top Hollywood flair. You can check it out from February 28th to March 8th. More info here.
