Philly’s brand new—and only—LGBT film festival, qFLIX, has announced the dates for its second season.
They’re kicking things off a little earlier this year, on July 7th, with an apt “Summer in the City” theme. Sticking to tradition, organizers Thom Cardwell and James Duggan say the itinerary of screenings will be complemented by panel discussions, after-screening Q&As, meet-and-greets with cast members, and some special parties and receptions. All films will be screened in Center City, but there’s still no word on what those films will be.
“It’s really too early to announce any films that will take the slots for opening and closing night films,” Cardwell said in a press release. “While Sundance isn’t quite over, there were 14 LGBTQ features, documentaries and shorts, and we’re hoping to snag some of them for our qFLIX Philadelphia 2015 lineup.”
He does offer a few hints about what’s in store for the ambitious six-day event. I’ll bullet-point those for you now, so they’re easy to read:
The festival will take place July 7th to 12th. We’ll keep you updated as new information develops, but you can also follow qFLIX’s whereabouts via their website, Facebook or Twitter pages. You can also support the festival by attending their monthly screening nights, taking place on the fourth Friday of every month in Tavern’s Ascend Lounge.
