The search for 31-year-old Maple Shade resident Thomas Cerveny, who hasn’t been seen by family and friends since October 3rd, continues without too many helpful clues.

I chatted with his fiancé, Brian Rex Mackenzie, this morning. Mackenzie has created a page on Facebook, “Help Us Find Thomas Cerveny,” where he has already amassed 540 likes at publish time. Mackenzie tells me that authorities have done a thorough check of Cerveny’s email accounts, iCloud, bank account, call logs and all social media sites without any clues as to where he could be.

Mackenzie does say, however, that Cerveny’s Internet log shows that he was on gay hookup site barebackrt.com on the day he disappeared. “I think he may have [met someone], but there is no call log or text to prove it,” he tells me. “He has a meth problem and barebackrt.com is a great place to find a person to party and play with.”

Both Mackenzie and Cerveny’s cousin Christy Dunn say it isn’t like Cerveny to take off for this long without telling anyone. “It’s been five days. This isn’t something he would do,” Dunn says. “He lives on his phone, like most of us do. But his phone has been turned off; all calls go to voicemail. Tommy is also very family-oriented, which worries everyone. I don’t believe he would purposely put his family through this.”

To recap, Cerveny, who goes by “Thomas James” on Facebook, is described by police as 5’9″, 155 pounds, with blue eyes and sandy-colored hair. He has a tattoo on his left shoulder. Anyone with information should contact Maple Shade police by dialing 856-234-8300 and referencing case 14-15432.
