PA Pastor Who Promoted Ex-Gay Movement Arrested for Molesting Teen Boy

Homestead, Pennsylvania Pastor Duane Youngblood, a man known for championing the “ex-gay” movement and penning the book Freedom from  Homosexuality: No Longer Living the Lie, has been accused of allegedly sexually molesting a teenage boy. More from CBS Pittsburgh:

The boy, now 21, told police Youngblood sexually abused him over a period of two-and-a-half years while Youngblood was supposed to be counseling him at the church. The assaults allegedly happened in the church office, bathroom and back room.

Reverend Scott Entwisle who lives directly across the street from Youngblood said, “If it is proven it’s horrendous it’s you know worse than horrible … what can I say?”

The victim told police that the abuse started in 2009 and ended in 2011 when he was a freshman in college and told Youngblood he didn’t want to be counseled by him anymore.

Youngblood reportedly asked the teen not to tell his mother “because he didn’t want to get into trouble.”

In 2006 Youngblood even wrote the book “Freedom From Homosexuality: No Longer Living The Lie” which chronicles his own stories and “the enemy’s plan against him.”

CBS reminds that this isn’t his first offense. In 2006, he was accused of molesting a 15-year-old boy, and sentenced to one year intermediate punishment and seven years’ probation.
