Legal Battle Over Ousted Inquirer Editor Begins Today
Jurisdictional questions to be decided
The showdown between Philly’s newspaper owners Lewis Katz and George Norcross will begin its first major proxy war in the Court of Common Pleas today as Katz and his cohort challenge the ouster of storied Inquirer editor Bill Marimow.
The suit argues Team Norcross had no authority to fire Marimow because it did not have the authorization from parent company Interstate General Media. IGM has already demurred on procedural grounds that the suit should be removed to a Delaware, where IGM is incorporated. [CBSPhilly]
