WATCH: The Sweet, A Short Film Set in Philly’s Comedy Scene
Interesting short film. Looks like it was shot on an iPhone, but that weirdly gives it a nifty dreamlike quality.
The story of a young would-be comic named Julius Jones who travels to Philadelphia for a job as an in-house landlord for an apartment owned by a local comedy club where they let their booked comedians stay in for the weekend. His so called “dream job” is brought to a halt when he realizes that comedians aren’t exactly the best people to live with and when a comedian (played by Derek Gaines, as himself) forces him to kick-start his career in comedy.
