Today, the Wall Street Journal ranks Major League Baseball’s most expensive mascots, according to how much they charge for private bookings. Clocking in at $600/hour alongside the Phanatic are Seattle’s Mariner Moose, and of course, that smug, good-fer-nuthin, goodie-two-shoes Mr. Met. Ever the good sport, the Phanatic (unlike hifalutin Mr. Met) cuts his fee in half for visits with non-profits. But as this recent commercial might put it, a visit with the Phanatic is worth more than $300, or even $600–it’s priceless.
