Philadelphia Archdiocese Doesn’t Want Speaker at Chestnut Hill College

Chestnut Hill College’s plans to host Fr. Helmut Schüller, an Austrian priest associated with the infamous (among Catholics) “Call to Disobedience” movement, have been met with an official response from the Philadelphia Archdiocese and it’s … not good. According to a statement, the Archdiocese believes that Fr. Schüller’s advocacy for the ordination of women could “damage the unity” of the Catholic Church. Apparently, the Archdiocese has forgotten about the ongoing sex abuse scandal that stands a far greater chance of “damaging the unity” of the Church over female service leaders. Fr. Schüller is currently touring the U.S. on his “Catholic Tipping Point” tour, sponsored by the likes of Dignity USA, Future Church, Call to Action, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, and others.
