Video: Watch Nik Wallenda Walk Across the Grand Canyon

Here’s the full abridged video (Discovery Channel has blocked full videos) of a harness-less Nik Wallenda crossing a gorge yesterday evening at the Grand Canyon*. (Spoiler alert: He makes it.) A couple of things will stand out. 1. He’s wearing jeans, which seems like an odd choice. 2. Muttering prayers throughout, Wallenda brought along überpreacher Joel Osteen. Which only added to the, well, stunt-like quality of the event.

*The walk didn’t take place in Grand Canyon National Park. As with Evel Knievel’s cannon stunting, the U.S. government didn’t allow it. Instead, the tightrope was set up on a part of the Grand Canyon located on a Navajo Reservation.
