Philly Priest Suspended for Alleged Sex Abuse

Another black eye for Philadelphia’s catholic church. The Archdiocese has suspended 74-year-old Reverend James Collins for the alleged abuse of a minor more than four decades ago. His permanent status with the church is in limbo, pending the results of a Church investigation. Collins had been a professor at Holy Family University since 1976, before retiring earlier this year. He served at numerous parishes and schools (list here) beginning in 1964, when he was ordained. Until recently, Collins had been living at St. Martha Parish, in Northeast Philadelphia, but his whereabouts are not currently known. [CatholicPhilly.com]
