Firefighter Caught On Camera, Stealing Money From Ambulance Patient

6 ABC reports that a Philadelphia firefighter has been placed on administrative leave, after cameras caught him going through the pockets of a patient he was transporting to Temple University’s Episcopal Hospital. The unidentified firefighter is a member of Engine 28, in the Port Richmond neighborhood.

The Firefighters Union says the firefighter, who has been on the job somewhere between 9 and 11 years, spent the day at East Detectives being questioned with his union rep by his side.

He’s been taken off the job at Engine 28 and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Philadelphia Firefighters Union president says these accusations happen and many times they’re false which is why the union is investigating.

The incident happened Monday night. More information is expected to be released today.
