Police: Mayor Nutter’s Daughter, Olivia, Assaulted

Philadelphia police charged 18-year-old Ciarra Ryan with simple assault after she was accused of punching Olivia Nutter in the face after a track meet in East Mount Airy. Mayor Nutter’s spokesman told the Inquirer that Olivia, who is a student at Masterman High School, is now “fine.”

NBC reports:

The mayor’s daughter was walking towards a group of girls when one of them told Nutter to move, according to police. Moments later, police say, Nutter was assaulted.

Some called Nutter’s daughter a game-changer during his first run for the mayor’s seat in 2007, when she starred in this campaign video (in which she noted she was the daughter of the only candidate who had a child in Philly’s public school system):
