Ikea Swedish Meatballs Apparently Contain Horse Meat

The horse meat saga continues. Swedish furniture playground Ikea is the latest to reveal it’s been serving customers horse. The taboo meat was flagged by Czech authorities in supposedly pork-and-beef meatballs. (Can’t explain why the Czechs were involved, sorry.) Meatball sales have halted in Sweden and Italy; no word on what’s going down at Philly’s Columbus Blvd branch. I guess this helps explain the availability of 15 meatballs, mashed potatoes, cream sauce, and lingonberry sauce for only $3.99. [Reuters]
