We Suddenly Can’t Wait For Willow Smith’s Memoirs of Childhood With Work-Crazed Will Smith For a Dad

Son-of-Philly Will Smith has long been known for his relentless work ethic, but apparently it’s burning out some members of his household. During an appearance at Temple University over the weekend, Smith reported that his 12-year-old daughter, Willow—she of “Whip My Hair” fame —had bowed out of an Annie remake for what appears to be entirely sensible reasons:

Willow was supposed to be doing ‘Annie,’ we got Jay-Z to do the movie, got the studio to come in and Willow had such a difficult time on tour with ‘Whip my Hair’ and she said, ‘You know Daddy, I don’t think so’ and I said, ‘Baby, hold up! I said no, no, no, listen, you’ll be in New York with all of your friends and Beyoncé will be there. You will be singing and dancing,’ and she looked at me and said, ‘Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12.'”

That is a better idea! And good on Will Smith for accepting it! But it does make one wonder what her memoirs will look like in, say, 20 years. Stage parents are always the best! [Huffington Post]
