Teen Girl Threatens to Kill Crossing Guard

In a town full of corruption, seemingly, at every level and corner of government, the lowly crossing guard stands alone—a symbol of sweetness to and safety for our kids. So of course this story is horrifying:

Authorities say a 13-year-old girl assaulted a crossing guard in Delaware County and threatened to shoot her.

Police in Drexel Hill say the 76-year-old guard had just left her post when it happened Tuesday afternoon. Upper Darby police say the guard felt something in her back and that the girl threatened to shoot her if she didn’t get out of the way.

The object pushed into the guard’s back? A pen. But the girl was taken into custody and ended up spitting at authorities who came near her in the “containment room.” Charming. [CBS Philly]
