New Jersey’s First Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens Today

After a three-year battle with the Christie Administration, New Jersey patients will have their first legal tokes of medical marijuana today with the opening of Greenleaf Compassion Center. Great news, sure, but don’t expect any enormous residual weed smoke clouds to make their way across the bridge just yet–the dispensary is only scheduled to see 20 patients today, and each can only buy a half ounce of pot a month (two legally, there just isn’t enough to go around). Initially, Greenleaf planned to open in September, but with medical weed, it’s better late than never. [Newsworks]
