Lockheed Martin Nabs $60 Million Defense Department Contract in Jersey

Looks like Jersey is going to stay in the bomb-making business thanks to a new $60 million contract awarded to Lockheed Martin, which holds a facility in Moorestown. The factory employs some 3,000 workers to design and produce components for the Defense Department’s Aegis missile program, and thanks to the contact, they’ll all be keeping their jobs. Hostess, it seems, is in the wrong business. [PhillyBurbs]

[UPDATE] From Lockheed’s communications dept.:

Just want to correct your facts here. We don’t manufacture bombs or missiles. We design, develop, integrate, and test Aegis combat system upgrades for the U.S. Navy.
