Nutter: Philly and Other Cities Will Be Screwed Without Fiscal Cliff Deal

Michael Nutter was at the White House last week, talking to Vice President Biden and urging Federal lawmakers in D.C. to GET SOMETHING DONE on the fiscal cliff. “Cities and metro areas are the economic engines,” said Nutter, who’s president of the Conference of Mayors. “We are the economy of the United States of America.” Nutter told CNN this morning that there’s no reason Congress can’t pass a middle-class tax cut right now. “There’s no reason for 98 percent of Americans’ taxes to go up.” [Time, CNN]
