5-Hour Energy Under Investigation for 13 Deaths, 33 Hospitalizations

If you’re tired right now, you’d better stick with a cup of coffee, as it turns out those wonderful little energy shots that some of us pound on the daily have deadly potential. The feds are currently investigating claims that 5-Hour Energy, like its other caffeinated brethren, played a role in a number of deaths across the country. Across the past four years, evidently, the two-ounce energy shot has landed some 33 people in the hospital and killed another 13. Living Essentials, the shot’s manufacturer, denies any connection to their drink and a dirt nap (of course). Encouraging, but here’s some better advice: maybe just get a good night’s sleep? [ABC]
