Election 2012 Results: Fox News Says Barack Obama Wins [UPDATE: Romney Concedes]

At shortly after 11 p.m., Fox News Channel called the election in favor of President Barack Obama. Juan Williams started talking about Obama’s legacy in his second term before adding, “The suburban housewives have made the call tonight for President Obama.”

“It’s over,” said one Fox commentator. “Mitt Romney will come up a loser in this race,” said another. Then the Beatles’ “Twist and Shout” began playing at Barack Obama HQ.

But then Fox’s Chris Wallace popped up and said, “The Romney camp has real doubts about then call we have made tonight.” And then a doubtful Karl Rove started talking statistics, leading Fox host Megyn Kelly to head backstage to talk to the statisticians. “We’re quite comfortable,” they responded of their decision to predict Obama the winner. “99 percent.”

As of 11:45 p.m., Karl Rove is still doubtful.

At 12:01 a.m., Andrew Sullivan tweeted:

Mitt Romney began his concession speech around 12:55 p.m.
